Project Analyst
The role
Project analysts at CanDo turn our ideas into reality, providing support across all of our projects. This will include:
Mastering no-code platforms, and significant opportunities to learn and apply coding languages
Building the front and back end of websites and apps
Researching and identifying solutions to social issues
Working across all areas of an early stage start-up (marketing, operations, business development, product)
Working directly with the CanDo team and our ventures’ employees and clients
As an example, one analyst’s first project was to build a search engine for free education resources. They did not previously have any software development experience. Aside from the design and build, they continue to be involved across all aspects of the business, from technology, to marketing to operations management. You can expect to work on several different projects in your time at CanDo: often more than one at a time.
The opportunity
The analyst role at CanDo is the best way to learn entrepreneurial skills, over two years in a well-funded, expert environment. You will have the opportunity to work directly with experienced founders and venture leads, and to develop and test a range of initiatives, both for profit and not-for-profit.
At the end of your two year fixed term contract, you should be well positioned for a more senior role elsewhere in the start-up ecosystem. Therefore, we tailor your role according to your future job interests, and actively prepare you for the next role.
Other opportunities include:
Understanding what it takes to start an organisation from scratch
Learning code and no-code, and applying your knowledge to working applications
Exposure to other successful entrepreneurs within the UK through the company
The person
Recent graduate from a global top tier university
Technically minded, with ideally (but not necessarily) a degree in a technical subject
Upbeat attitude and willing to perform a wide range of tasks - whatever is required to deliver the mission (whether that's battling with an advanced spreadsheet formula, or writing marketing emails)
Interested in entrepreneurship and social impact
Experience teaches us that the best team members are very talented, rather than very knowledgeable. As a result we do not need you to have relevant career experience or any domain knowledge - but we do need a highly flexible mind. Any further academic qualifications (eg PhD) will be viewed as a bonus.
The offer
The primary reason for taking this role is the opportunity to learn best-practice entrepreneurship working on important, exciting problems - but we do realise you need to be paid too.
The compensation will be £32k salary plus profit-share of up to £8k per annum.
Other perks include:
Relevant training course opportunities during work hours (eg learning professional skills or a software language)
Remote work (including from abroad) for up to 1 month per year
Hybrid office environment (we currently work 2 days/week in our London office)
10% pay rise after 1 year of work
Agencies and visas
No agencies please. We are not yet able to sponsor visas.
